Valley County Economic Development has announced Becky Ries as the new Executive Director of the county-wide economic development office. Ries assumed her position on May 9.

Ries is a familiar face in Valley County, where she has previously spent 17 years working for Valley County Health System and the Foundation. During her time with these organizations, she helped developed programs and grew relationships with donors and area businesses.
“It is hard to leave a job you love and great co-workers, but my passion for this community and its future is why I felt this change was one I wanted to pursue,” Ries said.
VCED President Dan Vech said, “Becky knows how to build relationships, lead and get things done. We look forward to working with her to support and grow Valley County.”
Ries and her husband, Jim, who is an Ord native, have been residents for 25 years. Their two children both graduated from Ord and Ries has been very involved with several local and statewide committees, as well as recently having served as the Ord Chamber Board president.
“My hope is to see our community thrive and be a vibrant and innovative place for families and businesses. I am excited for this opportunity and the potential of Valley County. People are truly what make this community what it is and I can’t wait to get out and talk with everyone. I would also welcome everyone to stop by the office and say hello. Relationship building is vital and essential to me, as well bringing in new ideas and ways to help our businesses,” Ries noted. Contact Ries at 308-728-7875 or beckyries@ordnebraska.com.
