The Valley County Economic Development Board, in partnership with the Ord Area Chamber of Commerce and the Valley County Tourism Advisory Committee, have released the 2025 Annual Development Report.
Included in the report are investments made in Ord and Valley County that include:
- $765,405.50 in sales tax loans to 7 Valley County businesses located in Ord, rural Valley County, and North Loup. Investments approved supported small business expansion and new business startup, totaling 13 full-time equivalent jobs created.
- Demolition of four vacant properties in Ord.
- Approval of five infill housing rebates in the amount of $138,357, leveraging $1,086,476 in housing improvements in Ord.
- Welcoming the addition of 33 new Chamber members in 2025.
- $41,000 in ChamberBucks sold to support shop local efforts for area members.
- Hosted 10 ribbon cuttings for new or expanding businesses or organizations within the area.
- Business coaching impacts in support of our area small business community, with 15 new coaching clients engaged in 2025.
Looking ahead, organizational goals for the VCED Board and partners will include:
- Supporting the retention and expansion of existing businesses.
- Advancing site and infrastructure readiness.
- Strengthening workforce and talent pipelines.
- Growing childcare capacity in Valley County.
- Encouraging housing solutions that support economic growth.
- Providing smart data and investment opportunities to area businesses to maximize tourism potential and attraction during peak travel times in Valley County.
- Deepening regional and state-level collaboration with County partners in Sherman and Garfield counties, along with state organizations at the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce.
