The Nebraska Tourism Commission recently announced recipients of their annual Community Impact and Tourism Marketing Grant programs. Valley County Tourism and the Ord Area Chamber of Commerce received the requested amount of $8,500 for the Valley County Branding Project for travel and tourism related marketing.

The purpose of the Valley County Tourism Branding Project is to increase exposure of the first issue of Venture to Valley County, a 40-page, full-color magazine created by Valley County Tourism that was released on June 13, 2018.

Branding efforts will include a strengthened web presence, targeted social media advertising, expansive print advertising and impactful email marketing attracting those interested in visiting the Valley County area.

In a recent press release, the Nebraska Tourism Commission stated…

“The Commission received a total of 81 applications this grant cycle requesting $1,713,996.06 in funding. The Commission’s grant programs are very competitive, and involve a selection committee of grant reviewers from the private and public sectors and citizens at large.

With the widespread attention of our new campaign, being able to help communities, events and organizations across the state affordably capitalize on Nebraska’s growing popularity is really exciting. There were many creative grant proposals this year and I’m looking forward to seeing the impact they have on tourism in Nebraska,” said John Ricks, Nebraska Tourism Commission executive director.”

Valley County has experienced significant growth in lodging tax dollars within the past year with a 21.1% increase from the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 fiscal year.  Funds generated from lodging taxes in Valley County are utilized by the Valley County Tourism Committee to promote travel and tourism opportunities in our area.

Valley County Tourism looks forward to engaging new marketing efforts outlined as part of the Valley County Branding Project to invite even more visitors to enjoy destinations and amenities in the Valley County area.
