Hunting & Fishing
A Sportsman's Paradise
Ord is at an intersection of rangeland, irrigated cropland and river bottom in Central Nebraska. Located in the North Loup River Valley, the valley is prime habitat for monster bucks, ringneck pheasants, bobwhite quail, prairie chickens, sharp-tailed grouse, Canadian geese, various duck species, turkey and much more. Ord is a hunting heaven. For fish species, you can expect crappie, walleye, trout, catfish and large-mouth bass in our area waters.
Much of the land is privately-owned, so as a sportsman, it’s important to gain permission prior to hunting. Permission is essential as well as legally required.
Hunting and Fishing Permits
Hunting permits can be purchased from Nebraska Game and Parks here. If you are hunting migratory birds, you need both a HIP number, along with Federal Duck Stamp if you are hunting ducks. Fishing permits can be purchased here.
