Miller’s Chillers – September 2016 Chamber Spotlight

Owning a business was a lifelong dream for Carri Miller. After working in other industries and working part-time for the previous owners, Carri decided to take the leap and purchase what is now known as Miller’s Chillers, located on South 14th Street in Ord. “After some thought I told [my husband] Marty that I think this is something I could do long-term.  So after some weeks of paperwork and appropriate licenses and certificates a lifelong dream of owning a business came true.”Miller's Chillers Sign

Since taking ownership of the business, Miller’s Chillers has added several new items to their inventory based on customer requests. They also carry a variety of craft beers. Carri states, “Please ask if there is something we don’t carry – I can check into it and try to get it for the customer.” One of the great perks of buying beer at Miller’s Chillers is the ability to get free ice if you bring in your cooler. They are also working towards becoming a one-stop shop for other recreational needs. “We also carry night crawlers and I am currently looking into selling hunting, fishing and park permits.”

Carri has always made an effort to support the local business community. “Shopping local is always something that I have tried to do since I grew up in a small town my whole life.  But now that you own a business you do the best you can to accommodate your local community so they want to keep coming back!”

The Millers will be celebrating one year of business on October 5, 2016. They invite everyone to visit their store for their Open House specials they will be offering throughout the week. You can also follow the Miller’s Chillers Facebook page for information on specials and store hours.
