Vickie’s ExtraORDinary Pork is a business rooted in faith, hard work, and a deep connection to agriculture. Founded in 2022 by Vickie Ference, the business began at the end of her freshman year of college, when she felt called to return to the pork industry and create something meaningful for herself, her family, and her community.
Driven by a passion for hands-on agriculture and a desire to do things the right way, Vickie built her business on a simple but powerful mission: to raise high-quality pork with integrity and care, while providing a product families can feel confident serving at their tables. Her commitment to responsible animal care and quality feed rations reflects that mission in every step of the process.
An important part of maintaining that quality is her partnership with Ord Locker, a USDA-approved local butcher. This collaboration ensures customers receive inspected, high-quality pork products while supporting another valued local business.
Since its founding, Vickie’s ExtraORDinary Pork has grown steadily through word of mouth and the support of loyal customers. What began as an idea has developed into a thriving operation that continues to evolve. As the business grows, Vickie remains focused on serving her customers with authenticity and appreciation.
In addition to her pork operation, Vickie’s entrepreneurial spirit extends into Grateful Adventures, a décor and party rental business that brings creativity and celebration to life’s most meaningful moments. After purchasing the long-standing business from local owner Eileen Bruha, Vickie has continued its legacy while infusing it with her own unique style and vision. From weddings and graduations to showers, galas, and special events of all kinds, Grateful Adventures offers an extensive inventory of rentals and a thoughtful, personalized touch that helps every occasion feel truly one-of-a-kind. Her passion for creating memorable experiences shines through in every detail, further strengthening her impact on the Ord community.
The next chapter for Vickie’s ExtraORDinary Pork and Grateful Adventures includes the opening of a storefront in Ord. This new space will provide a convenient and welcoming environment for customers, while also reflecting Vickie’s vision of creating more than just a retail location. Her goal is to foster a place where people feel at home and a space built on relationships, trust, and community.
Looking toward the future, Vickie plans to expand her pork product offerings, introduce seasonal bundles tailored for families, and explore opportunities to reach customers beyond the local area through shipping. Each step forward is guided by her commitment to growth that best serves her community.
Vickie credits much of her journey to the support system around her. From customers who have shared her story to those who have placed orders and offered encouragement, she recognizes the vital role the community has played in her success.
