Labor Substitue List

The Ord Area Chamber of Commerce is expanding their assistance to area businesses with a Labor Substitute List.  Finding individuals who are looking for low hour, part-time, seasonal or temporary job positions can be difficult in small communities. When businesses do find employees to fill these positions, they are usually found through word-of-mouth exchanges.  The Chamber would like to create a new means for area businesses to find these job seekers with the Labor Substitute List.  This list would include those in the community who are seeking these short-term or low hour jobs for added income, or even those who are retired and looking to help area businesses by working in their trade temporarily or only a few hours a week.  This list could be extremely beneficial to businesses who are short-handed when current employees need to quarantine due to COVID exposures or even those businesses looking to cover a leave of absence or maternity leave.

If you are a business owner in Ord or the surrounding areas, Chamber member or non-Chamber member, and are interested in utilizing this Labor Substitute list, please take the Business survey.  If you have a part-time, low hour, seasonal or temporary job position that is difficult to fill, contact the Ord Area Chamber office.

Those who are seeking low hour, part-time, seasonal or temporary positions can complete a short online survey to be listed as potential applicants for open positions.  This survey requires entry of contact information, industry they are seeking employment in and acknowledgement of previous experience.  Those looking to be included on substitute list can also bring a resume to the Ord Area Chamber office at 1514 K Street in Ord. The Ord Area Chamber will share contact information of job seekers with those with job openings.
