Grandview Assisted & Indep. Living – September 2014 Chamber Member Spotlight

As you drive north on 19th Street in Ord, you come across a grand view of a warm and welcoming two-story brick building that serves as a home to many local residents. Grandview Assisted and Independent Living has provided a fun, friendly and compassionate sense of community for residents since the facility was established in August 2001.


Grandview Assisted & Independent Living started as Lisa (Petska) Nielsen’s dream.  This dream became a reality with the help of various investors and forward thinking community members.  Their united goals lead to the creation of a premiere retirement community with assistance available for those who need it.  Over the past 13 years, Grandview has served as a home for over 250 residents. GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

The majority of Grandview staff has been employed at the assisted and independent living facility since it opened in 2001. They are the key to the quality loving care that is provided for residents.  Grandview Assisted & Independent Living prides itself on its experienced and compassionate staff.

A variety of suite and service options are available to residents at Grandview. One and two bedroom suites are available as well as a fully furnished recovery suite which can be utilized after surgery, for respite care or just for a short term stay.  An on-site guest suite is offered for family and friends while they are visiting.

Grandview Assisted & Independent Living strives to provide innovative care and current amenities such as a physician that is on site weekly, 24/7 staffing, transportation services, wellness checks and various recreational activities and outings. Common space amenities include personal laundry, chapel, library, private dining room, activity room, exercise room, beauty/barber shop and even an ice cream parlor and coffee spot.

    I was an exchange student in Ord in 1968 and stayed with the Lamberts.Now I should like to know if Elizabeth Lambert is a resident in your home?
