eCommerce Solution for Ord Area Chamber Members

The Ord Area Chamber of Commerce has been awarded a $25,000 JOBS Grant for the development of an eCommerce website exclusive for local retail and service members.  The Chamber will be soliciting feedback from business members on their interest and expectations of the program through a short online survey distributed via email.

As an additional benefit of belonging to the Ord Area Chamber of Commerce, this service will be provided free of charge for members.  Several features will be included which will allow businesses to expand their markets and promote their brand.

If your business is interested in being a part of the local eCommerce website or if you have any questions, please contact the Ord Area Chamber of Commerce, 1514 K Street or (308) 728-7875.  A complete project description can be found at www.ordnebraska.com/jobs-grant-awarded-for-ecommerce-solution.

During World War 2, a female service pilot from Ord, Ne was killed while ferrying a fighter aircraft P38 from Chanute field. She earned her pilot license, with the help of the Ord fireman who purchased a light airplane for her, at a very young age of 16. In honor of her, there was a plaque posted at the Grand Island airport. I have tried to remember her name but can’t seem to get the old memory box working. I remember when she would give rides to people at the Grand Island airport. Would you please enlighten me as to her name? George
