What makes your business unique? How do you share your story? What tools do you use to effectively promote your business? How do you advertise your business?
Last week, Jon Schallert, America’s Destination Business expert, shared helpful tips and strategies with 57 area business owners and employees from ten Nebraska communities to help them answers these questions.
After 10 years of working with Hallmark Cards and speaking with over 500 communities and interviewing 10,000 independent business owners, Jon developed a trademarked Destination Business process that is applicable for any business, regardless of location or industry.
Jon has worked with businesses across the country and the results landed one of his restaurant clients on the hit Food Network show, Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives with Guy Fieri and he’s helped turn a typical small-town general store into a sought-after destination featuring the world’s largest candy counter.
Attendees of the workshop, hosted at the Trotter Event Center, took away actionable strategies and thought-provoking questions regarding their marketing efforts to customers near and far. Discussion around Google for Business, traditional advertising options, Facebook algorithms and other social media strategies were among the topics of interest for attendees.
Seventeen attendees also participated in a one-on-one consultation with Jon following the workshop and marketing round table session, providing the opportunity to ask specific questions and seek advice on matters related to their business.
Business owners’ time is often spent working IN their business. This workshop offered an opportunity for attendees to work ON their business – brainstorming ideas and generated strategies to grow their business not only for the benefit of their individual company but for the greater good of the area – the business community and end consumers.
